Kalaway Voss Therapist in Nashville

Kalaway Voss

MS; she/her
therapist

I believe that the many unique ways humans (and all living beings) exist in this world should be freely expressed, explored, and empowered.

I’m passionate about this work because it bears witness, cultivates safety, teaches us how to reclaim our power, offers tools for growth, unveils resiliency, and illuminates the journey home to our truest Selves.

I also believe that…

  • Collaboration is essential to the therapeutic process. No one knows you like you know you, and your feedback about what you need from therapy and what you’re experiencing is so important. I’m always striving to listen and adjust so I can support in a way that is meaningful to you. Whether that means we incorporate rituals into our sessions, bring in resources that hold meaning in your life, or something else entirely— my goal is for your therapy to look and feel like YOU.

  • The cards we are dealt are often unfair/unequal. We did not choose the bodies we were born into, the parents or caretakers we were given, the environments we grew up in, our pain or trauma, our financial situation, or the injustices woven into the systems we inherited. We are not responsible for what is inflicted upon us, but we are responsible for our healing. Like the water carves through rock, you too can start upon the path and life you desire. You can cultivate this with time and attention, identifying your goals and values, and learning to extend the same love and grace you give to others to yourself.

  • You are a multifaceted, rare, precious gem of a human, and I want to support you in shedding the conditioning that prevents you from sharing your magic with the world. In the words of Liz Greene from her book Relating, “Each of us is at once the prince, the dragon, the wicked stepmother, the helpful animal, and the beloved; and we are also the quest, and the storyteller, all at the same time.” You are so many things at different times to different people. I want to help you explore and discover the many dimensions of you and what this means in your life, relationships, and wellbeing.

My purpose at The Gaia Center is to support collective healing in our community by helping folks navigate the shadowlands & spaces where we encounter resistance, rewire unhelpful patterns/coping strategies, and get fear out of the driver’s seat in order to steer toward meaning and purpose on YOUR terms.

I work with adults navigating grief and loss, anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and folks who are grappling with existential questions related to life, death, and meaning.

My approach is rooted in mind + body + spirit + earth connection and collective care.

Human First…

When I’m not working, you’ll find me gabbing about archetypes, dreams, and other magical topics and listening to 90’s music and true crime and astrology podcasts. I’m always getting my hands in the dirt— whether I’m blending tea, hanging out with animals, or playing make-believe with my niece and nephews. You’ll often see me trying to balance several cups / drinking vessels... gotta have my water, coffee, teas, seltzers, and other delicious concoctions! I also have a love for curating space and nesting; I hope when we’re together, you’ll feel my passion for making comfortable, safe spaces, in both feeling and physical form.
