Jenny Conatser Marriage and Family Therapist Nashville

Jenny Conatser

BA; M.Ed, she/her
marriage and family therapy graduate student

I do this work to provide clients with a safe place to explore their experiences, understand and process their emotions and motivations, and pursue meaningful lives.

I am committed to supporting and empowering individuals as they navigate challenges, strengthen their inner resources, and move toward fulfilling, authentic ways of living.

I also believe that…

  • We thrive through genuine connection – with others and with ourselves. Building authentic relationships while recognizing our own areas of strength and resilience creates a powerful foundation for growth and healing.

  • Our sense of motivation stems from a deep sense of purpose. When we connect with what truly matters to us, our forward movement becomes exciting to us and therefore sustainable. Healing occurs when we allow ourselves to gently explore and accept all the parts of who we are – the ones that feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar as well as those that fill us with joy or pride.

  • Wellbeing is not a fixed destination, but a lifelong practice – and change is not only inevitable, but essential. We are built to grow and evolve, and through that process, we can become our most integrated, whole selves. Therapy offers a space to untangle from societal expectations and learn how to genuinely honor both what we owe to ourselves and to others.

My purpose at The Gaia Center is to support you as you discover your path and empower you to step out onto it.

I work with people of all ages, individually, in relationships of all kinds, in groups, and as families.

I am especially passionate about existential work and meaning-making, life transitions, grief, sex and intimacy issues, and parenting challenges.

My typical therapeutic approach combines parts work with existential and narrative theories. I also integrate Jungian analysis, including dream and shadow work.

However, my primary focus is to serve the needs of my clients; I am fully committed to working with you to find an approach that you are comfortable with.

Credentials:

  • Jenny is working toward completion of her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Trevecca Nazarene University. She is interning at The Gaia Center to gain clinical experience during her graduate program. She has support and supervision through Trevecca as well as clinical supervision with Colleen Conklin, LPC-MHSP and Kaitlyn King, LMFT, ATR.

  • Jenny holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Education, both from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Before pursuing a career as a therapist, Jenny worked as a teacher on the middle and high school levels.

Human First…

When I’m not working, you can find me reading (anything! everything!) in a sunny spot, tending to my chickens and plants, or watching a baseball game. As my husband and two teenaged kids would tell you, I never pass up an opportunity to talk about my latest book, or my newest caffeinated creation. My dog, Frankie, is one of my most favorite people in the world; she almost always needs a haircut. I’m currently obsessing over sandtray therapy and Tarot readings, and I often fantasize about throwing my cell phone into the ocean.
