Rebecca Harris

BFA, MA, Certified End-of-Life Doula; she/hers
marriage and family therapy graduate student

I do this work because I believe people are both vulnerable and sacred, deserving of care, attention, and understanding. My previous work as a teacher and End-of-Life Doula taught me how transformative it can be to truly see and support those in need. I bring that same compassion and presence to help clients explore challenges and discover resilience.

I also believe that…

  • We grow through being seen and supported. Feeling truly understood allows people to navigate challenges with greater clarity, process difficult emotions, and recognize the strengths they may not have realized they possessed. Being witnessed with empathy and acceptance can be transformative, fostering resilience, self-awareness, and the confidence to take meaningful steps forward in life.

  • Our stories shape us and can guide our healing.  The narratives we carry about ourselves, our relationships, and our experiences hold power. Exploring and sometimes re-authoring these stories can help people uncover resilience, create new perspectives, and find meaning in even the most challenging circumstances.

  • Compassion for all parts of ourselves fosters integration and growth. Everyone has sides of themselves that can feel difficult, uncomfortable, or painful. By noticing and accepting these parts with compassion and self-love, alongside the ones that bring joy and pride, people can develop a greater sense of balance, authenticity, and wholeness.

  • Wellbeing is a lifelong practice.Life brings constant change, new chapters, and unexpected challenges. By leaning into these transitions with curiosity, patience, and self-compassion, people can strengthen their resilience, stay present, and deepen their connection with themselves and others throughout all seasons of life.

My purpose at The Gaia Center is to be a trusted presence for adults, families, and caregivers, helping them feel seen, understood, and empowered to face life’s transitions with strength and clarity.

I work with adults individually, as well as with families navigating serious illness or major life transitions.

I am especially passionate about supporting individuals and families through grief, chronic or serious illness, caregiver stress, and life transitions.

My approach combines mindfulness, narrative therapy, and CBT, helping clients explore their personal stories, process emotions, and build resilience.

My experiences as a teacher and an End-of-Life Doula inform my work, giving me insight into how people cope with loss, change, and challenges. I bring creativity and empathy to the therapeutic process, helping clients find meaning, connection, and practical tools for growth.
