a free community offering for finding refuge and solidarity
We don’t need to tell you that these are heavy times to be in the human experience. But everything heavy is easier carried together.
We are opening our doors with an invitation for you to step into the soft power of space and stillness with a new free community offering: Sanctuary Saturdays.
On the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 10-11am, The Gaia Center is opening one of our spaces to all who seek refuge from the chaos of the world, or who wish to honor personal or collective grief.
With this offering, we hope to offer comfort in a rare kind of togetherness— one that also allows for no-thing-ness.
What can I expect?
This is not a therapy or support group, or even purely a meditation group. Instead, it is a fluid container (stay for the hour or drop in and out as you please) where we’ll make space to honor our individual and shared pain in ways we don’t often get to in day-to-day life, or even in therapy.
Perhaps sometimes you’ll come to simply light a candle and sit in silence.* Other times, maybe you’ll bring a journal or have a quiet conversation with our space holder or another person present.**
*Well… silence-ish. We will often have some calming instrumental music going, or even a singing bowl.
**Interaction is not required— we’ll have stickers to indicate whether you’re open to connecting or would like to stay in silence.
Important Deets + How to Attend
🌱 WHEN: 2nd/4th Saturdays of each month, 10-11am (beginning June 8, 2024)
🌱 HOW: There is no cost, and no pre-registration is required. If at some point numbers become a challenge (we would welcome this problem!), we will explore space alternatives to be able to continue sharing this offering.
🌱 WHERE: The Gaia Center is located on the 4th floor of the Cavalier Building at 95 White Bridge Pike. (Cavalier is a 5-story white and black building set slightly back from the main road.) Parking is available in front of and behind the building. When you arrive, go up to the 4th floor and left down the hall to suite 403 (which is just one door past our main suite, 405.)
🌱 SPACE HOLDER: Kalaway Voss, MA
What the Meetup is Not
Sanctuary Saturdays is not a therapy group, support group, or a mental health service.
Attending Sanctuary Saturdays does not make you a client of The Gaia Center for Embodied Healing, though our existing clients are welcome (and encouraged!) to attend. If you are interested in learning about our therapy offerings, check out our team and services for individual, group, and relationship therapy at https://gaiacenter.co .
